Oilseed Extra is a complete foliar feed plus biostimulant for oilseed rape, applying nitrogen plus magnesium and a range of trace elements after the end of flowering. It is recommended for all varieties of winter and spring oilseed rape. Oilseed Extra has been shown to produce greater yield increases than simple foliar urea applications, providing approximately twice the yield increase.

Applies late-season nitrogen and other nutrients to boost the crop through pod-fill and seed ripening. Trials over five seasons have shown a yield increase of 0.45 - 0.62 t/ha (depending on rate of use). The average, following application of 200l/ha over the last three years is 0.6t/ha.
How is it applied?Apply 200 l/ha plus 100 l/ha water through normal spray jets after full petal fall, this applies 40 kg/ha N plus magnesium and trace elements. An application service is available within the area covered by Omex Contractors or through Omex distributors.
Yes, Oilseed Extra produces extra yield which requires extra nitrogen. Within NVZs, the extra yield produced following application of Oilseed Extra justifies an adjustment of Nmax figure for oilseed rape. Nmax for oilseed rape is 250 kg/ha (including autumn N application of up to 30 kg/ha), plus 30 kg/ha for every 0.5 tonne extra yield over 3.5 t/ha.
Following a series of grower and distributor trials, it is clear that there is a linear rate response, up to 300 l/ha and the optimum application rate for Oilseed Extra is 200 l/ha.
Based on the average yield increase following application of 200 l/ha Oilseed Extra, 100 l/ha Oilseed Extra and 200 l/ha foliar urea, the following graph shows the net return over input cost, based on bulk delivery of Oilseed Extra or foliar urea for 60 ha oilseed rape, oilseed rape at £375/tonne and an application cost of £13/ha.

Oilseed Extra was applied to the hatched block in the centre of the field on this yield map and the yield contours show yields in 4.75-5.5 t/ha categories, while the rest of the field varied from 3-4.5 t/ha. Based on a total field computation by the yield meter, the untreated part of the field yielded 4.23 t/ha and the Oilseed Extra treated area yielded 5.4 t/ha, a yield increase of 1.17 t/ha.

In all trials comparing Oilseed Extra and foliar urea, the advanced formulation of Oilseed Extra has produced approximately double the yield increase, compared to foliar urea. This double increase has applied at all rates of use.
Trials have shown that oil content is generally maintained or slightly increased, following application of a low rate of Oilseed Extra and slightly decreased at the 200 l/ha rate, but overall oil yield is optimal at the 200 l/ha rate.
By the tonne (870 litres) or in 1000 litre IBC's. Oilseed Extra can be pumped into any liquid storage on farm or, for large users; tankers can be supplied for short term on-farm storage. Oilseed Extra is available from most distributors.
At recommended rates 1 tonne treats 4.4 ha's (10.75 acres) and an IBC treats 5 ha's.
